So I think I'm going to start playing with short comics that illustrate some of Amanda's and my adventures with suburban life. I have a few ideas jotted down, and they're all based on true events.... so they probably won't actually be that funny or exciting. But I think this will be a nice challenge for me.
Here's a situation that inspired me to actually put one down on (digital) paper.
Yeah, I guess I'm creepy... or haven't quite figured out the rules of the suburbs. Sorry kids.
And yes, we adopted a dog. But there's been some drama in the house with the cats. So the future is totally up in the air.

Very nice...Poor Winnie. Great perspective second row third frame...
Tell Winnie, Pops will make the neighbors be nice.
Haha... I'm also intrigued why the girl has to drink "it" really slow...
Lookin' forward to meeting Winnie.
thats awesome hahah
that made me cry with laughter, kids are smart these days! lol
Hilarious.
Your use of blacks is amazing. So sophisticated.
...but are you wearing a Popeye shirt?!?
A

so good.
Haha! This is fantastic!
HA HA! Super funny and cool drawings! Can't wait to see more!
Love the art work and the expressions in the strip.
It's a sad world we live in.
I'm sorry you had to exprience it.
Marvelous stuff keep'em coming.
Those kids must have checked that website that has pictures of all the predators in the neighborhood.
Kidding..I kid, I kid.
so, i told my wife about this post and she said "well, they teach kids to beware of strangers and a common lure is to get the kid to help find a lost dog etc." there you go. a stranger with a dog story equals child molester. well done kid!
i can't believe the kids were allowed to sit unattended on the front lawn exposed to predators and neighbors and like that.
So both you and Dan have been labled perverts by the good citizens of our city.
Haven't heard that one? Remind me to tell you about it.
Ha ha....Valencia....
Hilarious Phil, This actually made me laugh out loud, which is pretty hard to do considering I am miserable.
A very satisfying strip, Mister Rynda. Best thing I've seen all week.
man, this is great - i just downloaded a bunch of kurtzman's work and it totally reminded me of it.
love it - can wait for anuthah.
Haha! That's great, Phil. I like the rest of the stuff I see here on your blog too.

whoah- rad. Phil Rynda drawing comics. It was worth the 7 year wait ;)
All this time I've been checking rynda.com to see what you were up to. Didn't seem like much... Glad to be in the loop again.
Hilarious AND great to look at. You're so great at comics. I think if the rest of your true stories are anything like this than you won't ever fail to have good material or entertain.
I hope to see lots more suburban mis-adventures starring good ol' Uncle Phil.
And the dog... the dog's great too.
Awesome! Do more, YOU BEAST.
